WE DO NOT POLLUTE THE ENVIRONMENT, WE PROVIDE ADDED VALUE TO THE ECONOMY
Press Release
OUR PROJECT TO RETURN THE INDEPENDENT PISTACHIO SHELLS TO INDUSTRIAL HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY RESULTED.
Our Project titled "We Do Not Pollute the Environment, We Provide Added Value to the Economy", which we carried out within the scope of Silk Road Development Agency Direct activity support, has been successfully completed.
Our efforts to turn the pistachio shell, which is the main goal of our project, into an investment tool that will contribute to both the country and the region's economy have yielded positive results. As it is known, tons of peanut shell residues obtained from peanut processing facilities in our district are discharged into the sewer or Nizip stream, or are left haphazardly in the environment. As a result, it causes waste of resources, soil pollution and disturbing odors, as well as deterioration of the natural environment.
Laboratory studies carried out within the project revealed the presence of Shikimic Acid, which is found in the shell of Pistachios and is an important raw material for the pharmaceutical industry. The final report prepared after the project showed that pistachio shells can be reused by establishing appropriate facilities and brought into the economy as a profitable investment tool.
Making a statement on the subject, Nizip Commodity Exchange Chairman of the Board of Directors, İbrahim SARI, said: "Our work on Pistachios, which has an important place for the economy of our district and the region, has started to bear fruit. With this project, the most efficient use of the pistachio shells has been made and the way has been paved for the creation of a new sector in this field. As Nizip Commodity Exchange, we will continue to prepare new projects that will contribute to our people and the economy. I hope this project will be beneficial to the people of Nizip." he said.
Dear businessmen and investors who want to get information about the project and turn it into an investment by implementing the project can apply to Nizip Commodity Exchange.
It is announced to the local people and the public.
Our Borsa, a first in Türkiye, has succeeded in obtaining shikimic acid from pistachio shells in a laboratory environment.
