"TOBB Turkey Economy Council", hosted by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu, was held at TOBB Twin Towers with the participation of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, relevant ministers, chamber and commodity exchange presidents.
At the meeting where economic management and real sector representatives came together, many structural and current issues such as production, exports, employment and financing were discussed. Speaking at the program, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu noted that they have been organizing TOBB Türkiye Economy Forums since 2003 and made it a tradition. Stating that they contributed to the strengthening of the culture of consultation between the public and private sectors in Türkiye, Hisarcıklıoğlu thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his support in this context. Hisarcıklıoğlu added that they are going through a difficult period in the economy and said, "Trade wars and protectionism are spreading in the world. Global growth and trade are slowing down. Our country's economy is also negatively affected by all this. But we do not lose our minds and do not give up the struggle. We always wish to see our state on our side, as it is today. We believe that together we will continue to grow the economy steadily on a more solid foundation."
After the opening speeches, the meeting continued in private.
The presidents of chambers and exchanges who spoke in this section took the podium and expressed the issues and solution suggestions coming from the real sector.
