Chairman of the board of directors of Gaziantep provincial and district chambers and commodity exchanges came together at the Joint Consultation Meeting, where the current situation of the regional economy, problems encountered and solution suggestions were discussed. The meeting hosted by Gaziantep Commodity Exchange; Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GTO) Chairman Mehmet Tuncay Yıldırım, Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GSO) Chairman Adnan Ünverdi, Gaziantep Commodity Exchange (GTB) Chairman Mehmet Akıncı, Nizip Commodity Exchange (NTB) Chairman İbrahim Sarı, Nizip Chamber of Commerce (NTO) Chairman Mehmet Özyurt, İslahiye Chamber of Commerce Chairman Selahattin Türkmen and GTO Secretary General. Hasan Baran Uçaner, GSO General Secretary Yusuf İzzettin İymen, GTB General Secretary Özgür Bayram, NTB General Secretary Eray Ölçal and NTO General Secretary Dilek Süzer attended.
At the meeting; Evaluations were made on various topics, including good practice examples carried out in chambers and commodity exchanges, accreditation processes, development of joint activities, the effects of regional and global developments on industry and foreign trade, and transportation, logistics and tourism. At the meeting, the possible reflections of global developments on the regional economy were also discussed; Risks that may be encountered in energy costs, supply processes, export markets and logistics were discussed. In this context, suggestions for market diversification, development of alternative supply sources, increasing energy efficiency investments and strengthening the financing and risk management capacities of companies came to the fore. At the meeting, issues regarding the development of transportation infrastructure for Nizip district, strengthening of tourism destinations and increasing the institutional capacities of chambers/commodity exchanges were also discussed.
