NEET PRO support program, financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, in the Gaziantep/Nizip region, was launched as an agricultural project of great importance in cooperation with the European Union and Financial Assistance Department of the Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security and IKG PRO.
The project, carried out by Nizip Commodity Exchange, focuses on Pistachio, Lentil, Mint, Olive Oil and Olive products, which are the most valuable agricultural products of the region, as a step towards solving the problem of young people who are not in education or employment.
NTB Chairman of the Board of Directors, İbrahim Sarı, stated that the project within the scope of the "Labor Market Support Program for Young People Who Are Neither in Education nor in Employment" covers issues that fall within the direct or indirect field of interest of the stock exchange, and said the following about the 1-year implementation:
"The project will be carried out with the participation of 90 trainees. Within the scope of vocational training, courses on Agricultural Consultancy, Good Agricultural Practices and Agricultural Marketing Programs will be organized and with these courses, the professional qualifications of our young people who are unemployed and want to join the workforce will be increased and they will become the workforce demanded in the market. At the same time, participants will be given the opportunity to take elective courses on Communication Skills, Export and Import issues, Business skills and self-confidence in order to provide general skills.
One of the most important features of the project that young people between the ages of 15-29 can benefit from is that 50% of the participants are disabled and 50% are young people in need. In addition to paying a daily fee of 10 Euros to the young people who will participate in the project, we will also provide NEETs with a monthly Job Search Allowance support of 50 Euros from the project budget.
We will also provide a one-time moving aid of 200 euros, also from the project budget, to young people who find work in a city other than the one they live in. Thus, we will have piloted this approach, which is implemented in many European countries, in our district as an innovative model in our country.
Underlining that 90 young people will participate in the labor market with vocational and skill development training given by expert trainers in their fields, Mayor Sarı said, "The young people to be trained will respond to the employment demands, especially in the field of agriculture, which will prevent unemployment and ensure the availability of qualified personnel in the sector. The training, which will last 8 hours a day, will be held in the training halls at Nizip Commodity Exchange by trainers who are competent in their fields.
Individual Action Plans (IEP) of at least 90 trainees who are entitled to receive certificates within the scope of the project will be prepared by Gaziantep İŞKUR Provincial Directorate. BEP will be designed on a monthly basis and will include job search activities, job interviews, participation in Job Clubs, seminars, employment fairs, career days, etc. It will include job search activities.
"Technical visits will be organized by the participating companies and Nizip Commodity Exchange member companies in order to show the trainees good and innovative practice examples, so that the trainees will see possible working environments in the future and have an idea about the environment they may encounter if they are employed."
